Mrs. Lund's physical science students investigated properties of density through three mini labs! They made a carrot float in water by adding salt, investigated the density of hot and cold water, and compared the viscosity of different liquids. 🧪

Lunchtime trivia: Level unlocked! 🧠✨ Our students crushed Friday's review questions based on what they learned this week in ELA, math, science, social studies, and connections at lunch. Nothing like a little friendly competition, massive cheers from the room, and sweet rewards to celebrate hard work! The week before, students received shout outs from their teachers for positive behavior! 👏

This week, Mrs. Justice's ELA students took a deep dive into the classic short story "The Lottery." They completed a variety of activities to analyze narrative techniques, including a challenging, high-engagement escape room centered around the text! 🔓

Yesterday, our 7th grade science students took learning outside and traveled to the lake on the PGM campus!
Students made real-world observations as they identified and recorded the biotic (living) and abiotic (nonliving) factors within these ecosystems. 🌳🐟💧☀️
Back in the classroom, students used their observations to complete a CER (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning) focusing on organisms they observed and the characteristics of life that demonstrate how we know they are living. 📝🔍
There’s no better science lab than the world right outside our classroom!

We’re jumping right into an exciting year of STEM Project-Based Learning at PGM! Friday's kickoff included setting up STEM journals, picture book read-alouds designed to introduce each grade level's driving question, and lots of conversation and brainstorming as students began tackling real-world problems right here in our community.💡🌎
🗑️6th Grade: How can we, as environmental problem solvers, design solutions that reduce waste and improve sustainability at PGM?
🎣 7th Grade: How can we manage and maintain our school pond to ensure it remains healthy, safe, and well-stocked for hosting successful kids’ fishing events?
🍽️8th Grade: How can we transform PGM's unused land into a model of sustainable food production that benefits our school community?
