STEM in action at PGM! 🐟 We had a special visit from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to help us introduce grass carp into our school ponds.
With overgrown aquatic vegetation starting to take over, our ponds needed a natural solution — and that’s where grass carp come in. These plant-eating fish will help control weeds, improve water flow, and restore balance to the ecosystem.
GaDNR stocked approximately 50 carp in our smaller pond and 250 in our larger pond. Students had the chance to see the process up close and even help with the release, learning about real-world applications of biology, ecology, and conservation.
We’re so thankful to GaDNR for this amazing hands-on STEM experience! 🌎💧

🎃✨ PGM counselors led a teacher professional learning session focused on student wellness and the think-feel-act cycle! Teachers wrote negative thoughts on pumpkins and then practiced reframing them into positive ones by launching the negativity pumpkins. The teacher with the most accurate pumpkin chunk won a fun trophy: pumpkin pie flavored ramen noodles! 🍂🥢 #StudentWellness #PositiveThinking #SafetyFirst #PumpkinChunkin

To capture students’ attention, our Source of Strength peer leaders rocked blow-up costumes while spreading help, hope, and strength! Peer leaders ensured every PGM student also received a sticker with 9-8-8 crisis line information. PGM #sourcesofstrength wants all students and staff to know they matter. ❤️
