🗣️ Discussion "Spark" Questions
The Turnaround: At the start of the book, Tucker isn't having a very good day. Have you ever had a "grumpy" morning that turned into a great day?
The Clover: Tucker rolls in a bed of four-leaf clovers. If you found a magic clover, what is the first "lucky" thing you'd want to happen?
Dave’s Job: We saw Dave in the video! How is Dave's job as a service dog different from Tucker’s day of play?
Vocabulary: The book uses the word "extraordinary." What is something extraordinary that happened to you recently?
Activity: The "Lucky Charm" Collar or Keychain
Since Tucker finds luck, let’s help students create their own lucky charms!
The Mission: Create a "Lucky Charm" tag for your pet, your backpack, or your keys.
Supplies: Cardboard circles (or old juice box lids), green markers, glitter, and string.
The Task: On one side, draw a four-leaf clover. On the other side, write one thing that makes you feel lucky (e.g., "My Teacher," "My Library," "My Family").
Bonus: If you have a dog at home, practice reading Lucky Tucker out loud to them, just like we saw Dave!
Let’s make this the luckiest month ever!
