Legislating Lake Valhalla: Democracy vs. Autocracy in 7th Grade Social Studies! 🎣📜
For Constitution Day, Mrs. Kiefhaber's 7th graders stepped into the shoes of legislators to draft the Lake Valhalla Public Fishing Act!
As part of an interdisciplinary lesson connected to their STEM PBL, students investigated democratic and autocratic governments, citizens' rights, and environmental protection. Using evidence and reasoning, these young lawmakers then worked to create a legal framework for public fishing tournaments that protects both constitutional rights and local natural resources.

👩🍳🧑🍳 Culinary Crusaders is off to a great start! Our middle school chefs learned about kitchen hygiene while practicing measuring and mixing skills to make Monster Cookie Dough Bites 🍪 and Fruity Party Punch 🍓🥤. They had a great time learning, creating, and working together!

Our 8th-grade historians recently took a hands-on dive into Georgia’s roots! Students brought early state history to life by performing a catchy song about the main motivations behind European exploration (the 3Gs - God, Gold, and Glory), creating a skit about the founding of Georgia, and rotating through stations to further explore the reasons our state was established. 🎵🎭📖

🌎 Plate tectonics never tasted so good! Our 6th graders used Rice Krispie Treats, frosting, and graham crackers to model how tectonic plates collide, separate, and slide. A little messy, a lot of learning, and definitely delicious! 😋 #PGMVikings #Northbound #STEM
